Our Services
Three services, each with a defined scope and a fixed fee.
Sayang Legal offers three family law services chosen to address the most common situations families encounter when considering legal support. Each has a clear description and a stated price.

How we approach every family matter
Every matter at Sayang Legal begins with a conversation — not a questionnaire, not a standard intake form, but an actual exchange in which the solicitor listens to what the client is experiencing before reaching any conclusions about what should happen next.
From that starting point, the work is conducted with care for the pace that the client needs. Family situations are not projects with straightforward timelines. A custody matter involves children whose lives continue through the process. A settlement negotiation involves a relationship — however strained — that will likely continue after the matter is resolved.
We work with those realities, not around them.
Understand before advising
The situation is heard in full before any legal assessment begins.
Identify the right response
The appropriate service is identified — or, if legal action is not warranted, that is said clearly.
Proceed only with clear agreement
Fees and scope are confirmed in writing before any substantive work begins.
Keep the client informed
Progress is communicated proactively. No chasing required.
Service 01
Initial Family Counsel Session
A first hour with counsel for clients who would like to talk through a family situation calmly before deciding what, if anything, to do about it. The session is private and unhurried; the counsel listens, identifies what is and is not within the legal scope, and provides a short written note summarising the conversation. The client leaves with a clearer view and no obligation to continue.
- One hour, completely private
- Written note provided after the session
- Conducted in English or Bahasa Malaysia
- No obligation to engage further services
- Suitable for any stage of a family matter
Service 02
Drafting of Settlement Letter
A measured settlement letter drafted on your behalf, intended to open calm dialogue with the other side rather than escalate matters. The letter is reviewed thoroughly with you, revised until the wording is exactly right, and only sent on your clear instruction. Suitable for matters where the tone of first contact is likely to shape what follows.
- Drafted by a qualified solicitor
- Reviewed with you before any revision is finalised
- Revisions until the wording is exactly right
- Sent only on your explicit instruction
- Calibrated to open dialogue, not provoke a response
Service 03
Custody Variation Application
Preparation of a custody variation application where circumstances have changed since the original arrangement was made — a parent's relocation, a child's changed needs, or revised informal practices that the parents would like recognised. The work is conducted with care for the children's stability and with realistic explanation of when variation is achievable and when continuing the existing arrangement may serve the family better.
- Full application preparation
- Honest assessment of whether variation is achievable
- Child welfare kept central throughout
- Prepared in accordance with Malaysian family court procedures
- Client kept informed at each stage
